So, it looks like Barack Obama will win the South Carolina primary. No surprise there. Blacks just chose Obama because...well...he's black. What the media also doesn't tell you is that nearly half of South Carolina consists of white voters and that Barack is half white. That's right folks, for anyone who cares, he's just as white as he is black. I'm talking white as day, snowstorm white.
All we heard about leading up to the primary is how race shouldn't be a factor and that the Clinton's were making it an issue. I'm going to call bullshit on that right now. When Michelle Obama (his wife) is on the campaign trail saying things like "Wake up black America", you damn sure better believe it's about race.
I swear I never believed in conspiracy theories or that the press had an agenda but I am sickened by what I see these days in ALL the media. It almost appears as though they WANT Obama to win this thing, or at least try and pull an upset. Why do I believe this? Because I never see anyone asking this man any tough questions. I never see him scrutinized the way the Clintons have been. A newcomer shows up on the scene and wants the most important job in the world and all we can talk about is the FORMER President? How about combing through every nook and cranny of this guy's record before we start annointing him the odds on favorite to be the next POTUS.
Here are a few things I've got on my mind...and they primarily involve race.
Obama- Can we stop already? How many of you that have jumped on this guy's bandwagon know a THING about him? The same people that said that Americans were foolish to vote for GWB because he was "likeable" and they "could have a beer with him" are saying the exact same shit about Barack Obama. Also, why is the media giving him a free pass? Where is the scrutiny of his record?
Here's a question for you....do you REALLY think a black man can get enough white southern male votes to win this thing should be be the nominee? On the heels of Don Imus and Jena 6, have we really come that far with race in America? You may not like it, but it's a very valid question.
Speaking of race, I see Al Sharpton, the world's biggest hypocrite, is up to his shenanigans again....Basically, to make a long story short, a (white) female golf channel commentator made a remark and used the word "lynched" After initially being cleared of any wrongdoing by her employer, she was later suspended. Of course, that's not good enough for the "Reverend", who is demanding she be terminated immediately. Mind you, the broadcaster, Kelly Tilghman, has apologized personally to Woods....he has accepted it and wants to put this behind him, but Sharpton just won't let it die.
All of that said, "Reverend" Sharpton....a few questions for you....
1) Please refresh us on the facts surrounding the Tawana Brawley case. Have you publically apologized for your role in defaming the state assistant district attorney? Have you paid the judgement against you to Mr. Pagones?
2) In reference to the Crown Heights incident...did you not say "If the Jews want to get it on, tell them to pin their yarmulkes back and come over to my house" and also refer to them as "diamond merchants"?
3) Will you stand behind the Duke lacrosse players who were wrongly accused? Will you fight as vigorously for them as you did against them?
4) You were once quoted as saying to an audience at Kean College in 1994 that, “White folks was in caves while we was building empires ... We taught philosophy and astrology and mathematics before Socrates and them Greek homos ever got around to it. What did you mean by "homo"?
The point here is that this guy is a con-artist and a total sham. He's a media whore and a pompous, self-involved, racist buffoon who should not be taken seriously...ever.
If you could create your own National Holiday, what would it be and when?
Submitted by John M.
I would create a day where we would lament the countless, needless deaths of domesticated animals. This is clearly a problem that WE, as humans, have created, and need to do something about. It would also be a time to reflect on the enormous contributions that animals in general, have made to the betterment of mankind since the beginning of recorded history. Their hard work, loyalty and dedication should be honored.
I would use the time leading up to this "holiday" to educate and inform young people about the important role of animals (horses, dogs, camels, to name but a few) in modern society....and how they have faithfully and tirelessly served us over the years. (police canines, search and rescue, guide dogs, farming, transportation, companions for the elderly, etc...)
As Mahatma Gandhi once said....
"The greatness of a nation and its moral progress can be judged by the way in which its animals are treated"
I saw this on my local craigslist and while it's pretty blunt, it's also (in my opinion)....absolutely true beyond a doubt. Again, I am merely copying and pasting this,...I am just the messenger, not the author.
It's true, nice guys always finish last. if you're looking for more than just a quick fuck, it doesn't matter how nice you are, how talented, how cultured, how insightful, nor how smart. It doesn't matter how much respect you show towards others. It doesn't matter how much you've struggled, how much you've achieved, nor what incredible things you've experienced. Charm and the ability to raise someone's spirits are worth nothing. it's all about how good looking you are - if your ancestors didn't pass any genes for good looks on to you, you're screwed. you might as well rant like a postmodern asshole poet.
Of course, all of the above is twice as true in Richmond, where gay men are completely without healthful role models for social skills and ethics.
In conclusion, mr. nice guys, fulfill your darwinist destiny; buy yourselves a dozen roses and leap off a cliff. Bye bye.

What won't you miss about 2007?
Submitted by uncagedbird.
Hmmm...the first post in my Vox Blog.....What WON"T I miss about 2007?
I won't miss the drama and the constant crisis and the back-and-forth, behind the back bullshit that ended the year with some of my friends. I can certainly do without that.
I won't miss the ridiculous rent on my last apartment. Too much $$$ for too little space. In retrospect, what a waste of money. Money that could have been put to better use!
I won't miss moving in the dead of Winter....again.
I won't miss what amounted to a year that started full of promise but ended on a pretty shitty note.
I won't miss my terrible mood swings and bouts with depression.
I won't miss a lot of the people who claim to be friends but their actions demonstrate otherwise.
I will always remember when an interviewer ( I think Keith Olberman) kept asking Al Sharpton during teh Don Imus... read more
